Architectural model of Matti Suuronen’s iconic prefabricated 1970s Venturo House, hand-cast in plaster.

Miniature architectural model, hand-cast from reinforced plaster.
Comes gift boxed and includes a technical drawing style postcard. Hand-signed by the artist.

Available in 2 different sizes, these miniature Venturos will liven up any desk or shelf with their retro pre-fab charm.

The Micro version comes with a postcard with a line-art illustration on the front, and building information on the back.

Designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen in 1971, the Venturo house formed part of his iconic ‘Casa Finlandia’ series of prefabricated buildings constructed primarily from reinforced plastic. Thanks to their lightweight construction, ease-of-assembly, and eyecatching futuristic design, many were put to business use as gas stations, cafés, stores, and vacation homes.

The Finnish plastics manufacturer Oy Polykem was responsible for producing the lion’s share of Venturos, though production was also licensed to companies in at least 11 different countries.

Despite the majority of Venturo examples being the 6.9m square ‘basic’ variety, the unit was actually produced as a modular design, and sections could be bolstered together in an endless variety of configurations.

Please note that the decorative base depicted in the photos is for illustrative purposes only and is not included with the model.
