Hand-cast architectural model of Kaohsiung’s now demolished TO-DAY Entertainment Center, made from acrylic-reinforced plaster.

The TO-DAY Entertainment Center was constructed at the turn of the 1970s, forming part of the entertainment distict centred on Bade Road in the area around Kaohsiung Main Station.
The complex originally housed a department store, bowling alley, swimming pool, amusement park, and a large cabaret theater referenced by the large, abstract mural of dancers designed by famed artist Wang Shuihe that graced the building’s facade . The cabaret itself would later be converted to a 1000-seat cinema during the mid-1970s.
In 1991, a fire forced the complex’s closure and a portion of the building was subsequently rented out to a gambling arcade. After a major collapse of the building’s rear wall in 2021, the entire building was deemed unsafe, and demolished shortly after.

Please note that because all models are cast and finished by hand, each model is unique, and due to the nature of the material some small defects and imperfections will be present.
